So as you know when I first started this blog I was in the middle of getting my first novel edited. There were many things I didn’t know back then; the editing process has taken a lot of time, effort and dedication. But through the months I have learnt a lot of things about editing, but about myself.
I’m not going to bore you with a story of all the things I’ve learnt, there are way too many to say on here. But I know there are many things in life not everyone knows. Like the amount of time that goes into editing, or how much patience I actually have.

I am just about finished, the editing is done, maybe a few tweaks here and there, but still I am there. Some members of the family don’t even know what I am doing; others who do know don’t believe I can do it.  A few of my friends don’t believe me. But you know what, I have worked harder than ever, at first I wanted to show people I could do. Then things changed, I realised I wanted to publish because I love to write and I want people to be inspired by me.
I love writing, it has been a big thing to me for a good few years now, this is the first time I am actually proud of something I have done. Writing Sworn 2 Secrecy has been the one thing which hasn’t let me down.

I will let you into a little secret, I actually wrote Sworn 2 secrecy when I was 13, I was bored and I didn’t really want to do anything else, so instead I just sat at my computer and started typing.
I finished writing it six or seven months later, I know you might think that’s a very long time, well it is, but there were other things getting in they way when I writing it.
So when I finished it, I didn’t know what to do with it, I wasn’t really sure on what to do. So I left it, then when I was 15 I was introduced to an already published writer. Man, I didn’t think my life could get any better. She has taught me so much, I realised what I wanted to do. Writing is a way of expressing yourself.
Whether you’re angry, sad, upset, happy or ecstatic. Anything you write needs emotion to grip the reader and keep a hold so they won’t put it down.

In Sworn 2 Secrecy there are many things I hope capture the reader’s imagination, but there is one thing in there that I want people to remember. Brother Hood, I won’t give anything away just yet.
The three brothers in this novel experience everything, loss, anger, sadness, love, power; they have been divided and pulled together through a bigger force. I’m not sure about being a brother, but I am a sister and I know my brother doesn’t really need me to look out for him, but I worry about him a lot.
I tried to understand what the relationship is between brothers, so I observed people with their brothers, I realised their bond is strong. They are both as strong as one another, but together their combined forces hold each other together.
The three brothers in my novel are all strong separate, but together no one can stop them. The eldest isn’t so sure of himself, the middle is the strongest, physically, and the youngest is the best plans and ideas. But they need each other to get through their lives.

I wanted to promote my novel and I will let you know what it is out for purchase, but it won’t be long now.
Thank you,

The closer to finishing something the faster your heart beats and the harder you work. It gives you a heart stopping wrench of hope.

I can say, through experience, your first novel will be the best thing ever, the feeling you get when your nearly there, it can never be beaten. Im sure your aware writing the actual novel is the easy bit, it when you start the editing it get hard. Once you get into it you find there are the same mistakes all the way through and you have to change all of them. I know it can sometimes feel like a never ending task.

But you know it can always be made easier when you have someone who knows what they are doing and what they are looking for, they will clue you into what your doing. I know what you look at it the pages of your novel, when you don't know what your looking at it looks perfect.

I did that, thought it was perfect, but realised there were a billion mistakes, and I'm sure every writer who had just started out did the same. It's all about leaning, you have to learn the things you need to look at. You have to be patient with it.

Not only patience but also dedication, some people can do the task, but there are a few who can't because they are not 100% in the task. For you to be the best you can be you need to look inside yourself to find you are ready for it. To be a writer there might be a certain amount of fear. I don't want to admit this, but when i first started i was scared about what i was meant to do, if i was good enough. I didn't know what i was meant to do if they said it wasn't good enough.
But of course they didn't, but its that first and last step where you need to show your true feelings about the novel. I know after all the work I've put in I am going to publish it, but there is also the fear of people not really being bothered about it. But i guess there is always family.

It will be a bumpy ride for you, i know it was for me, but there are always people who you know who wont care, they wont be bothered because they don't know the work going into the novel. I know it will dishearten you to hear this, but its not what I'm trying to do, I just want to make you aware, but you have to rise above and get past it.

let the world of myths and legend open up to you, there are a million different things you could write, wither is be a fantasy, thriller, crime, anything, just get an idea and run with it. No matter how daft it might sound in the beginning. It will work out as you get deeper into it.

I am doing this post because i know as a writer, some need to have a little bit of encouragement. It is hard and it feels like its never going to end, but once you get the hang of it, the task will get a little bit easier as you get through it. If you are reading this, then just take a moment to think about why you are writing, just remember why you started writing in the first place. Always keep that in mind, don't forget why.

Thank you,

i have just read http://www.erhinspired.blogspot.com/. She said to use these five point:

1 We want to know about who you'd like to meet. Briefly describe them.

2 We want to know where you'd go. Briefly describe the place.

3 We want to know about the one object you would hold till death. describe briefly

4 We'd like to know about the perfect job. Describe what it is and what you do.

5 Include the last line from a poem, something that is relevant to you. don't forget to credit the quote to the author at the end.

I know you might be a little confused, but let me explain. These five points will be five verses of a poem, it doesn't have to rhyme, but you have to use the five poems to explain what you wish your life is going to be like in to future. Five points, five verses.
This is mine:

Hoping for a better future is me,
My perfect boy friend or husband is the key,
He would have to be sweet and able to make a good cup of tea.
He'd have to be funny and of course, good looking.
THe perfect man.

Hoping for the perfect place,
Life is better when you feel safe,
Life, for me, is better in the middle of nowhere,
In the middle of Texas,
The heat and the accent, is the perfect place and people.

Hoping for the perfect ornament,
The would have to be a wolf,
A wolf watching over the family i will have,
A wolf to look after the family when I'm gone,
Just because wolves are the perfect animal to love.

Hoping for the perfect poem,
Not something that is easy,
But i'll tell you what,
This is the last few line of my own,
'The possibility of a life with someone else?
It's just the heart taking over from the brain,
But it's possible.'
This is the perfect poem for me.

Thank you for reading this, have a great night and please send me your own. It would be great to see other peoples.

Thank you,
J.A.M
